Google collaborates with university students who are passionate about growing developer communities and support them with starting student clubs on their campuses. Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) train thousands of student developers globally and work with their communities to solve real-life problems.
GDSC-JIIT is the official Google recognized students' club at JIIT.
GDSC-JIIT NOIDA believes in creating impact. Impact students and empower them to impact their communities through technology. This club is open to all students, ranging from novice developers who are just starting, to advanced developers who want to further their skills. GDSC-JIIT provides the opportunity for students to grow their knowledge on developer technologies and through peer to peer workshops and events. Gain industry experience by solving problems for local organization with technology based solution. Showcase their prototypes and solutions to their local communities and leaders.
GDSC-JIIT organizes various workshops and hands on training sessions like codelabs, competitions, hackathon and techtalks. GDSC-JIIT Club conducts the series of workshop at JIIT campuses to develop mobile/web applications using various advance technologies. A series of workshop on Web Development are conducted on front-end and back-end technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL. Also conducts series of workshops on mobile application development using Android, Flutter and Progressive Web Apps.
In addition to workshops, GDSC-JIIT also provides an opportunity for students to apply their newly gained skills to develop solutions for local organizations, and then provide visibility via showcases. GDSC-JIIT organized two day technical festival every year, this technical festival includes a 12 hour hackathon where students from all years and branches can compete to build a solution to serve local community, TechTalks- TeckTalk bring out the inquisitive techie in the students as invited technocrats from various fields to interact with students and impart their experience and knowledge. Various technical competitions like Website Designing Competition conducted during JIIT’s technical fest CyberSrishti and fun events are also conducted during our cultural fest Impressions.
With over 60 students dedicated to the GDSC-JIIT, along with the support from faculty advisor Mr Prantik Biswas. Each student plays an important role in the team. Clubs motto is “Giving Direction to Greatness”. Club has been at the forefront of adopting Google’s technologies and its members have been committed to excellence. Club wants to help more students successfully transition into technology, irrespective of their present skillsets. GDSC-JIIT wants to become a place where students can work on new ideas and collaborate to solve real-world issues and give back to the society

The Internal Hackathon for SIH was conducted online on September 23-24, 2023 with offline evaluations by faculty coordinators on September 25, 2023, for all students across JIIT-62 and 128. The internal hackathon acted as the qualifiers for the SIH 2023.
The event gained enormous popularity amongst the students across all academic years. The event management was done over Discord, namely in organizing:
Evaluative Feedback Round -1: Conducted by the student organizing team, this round allowed the students to present their ideas and visions and get feedback for further implementation.
Evaluative Feedback Round -2:Conducted by student evaluators and teachers, this round was for the students to get constructive criticism for their implementations and prepare them for the final offline evaluation scheduled for the next day.
The offline evaluation was conducted by 12 faculty panels and was managed by the student coordination team. This round was for scoring the students and effectively shortlisting the entry teams for SIH ‘23.

Hackin' Winters: Hacking winter is a Hackathon which was successfully organised by GDSC -62 on campus from 19-11-2022 to 20-11-2022 in CL-1 to CL-4. The main motto of the event was to promote dev culture and a spirit of healthy competition among students.
This hackathon helped in creating opportunities for students to learn and develop new skills faster. It helped in development of time management skills, new coding languages, programming techniques, or tools during a timed event.
This event helped in becoming more noticeable within and outside potential tech industries. It also helped Students to get approval from tech companies and develop new relationships with potential stakeholders of the industry. Similarly, gaining industry recognition can help them pursue their preferred professional career and establish themselves as an expert in the programming field.

Introduction to hackathons and Next.js, Data Science for dummies, Blockchain for dummies: In today's fast-paced world, theoretical knowledge is never enough for success in any domain of life. To help students fortify their passion for development, GDSC organized various hands-on workshops from November 14 to November 18, 2022. These workshops got the students familiarized with data science, and blockchain, and introduced them to hackathons and Next.js. We witnessed fun participation all three days, with participants who were keen to improve their skills and learn new ones. All in all, it was a thoughtful initiative that helped students gain knowledge and refine themselves.

Learn to Make your Portfolio: The workshop, held on 26th and 27th September 2020 was focussed towards teaching attendees how to create their own portfolio website. The workshop was divided into two days each session spanning for two hours.
Day 1 - HTML & CSS: On the first day, the attendees got to know about the importance of having a portfolio website and what technologies are involved in making one. Further, a hands-on session was conducted. The development session began with HTML and further went on explaining about CSS. The event gained a great response from the audience with numerous doubts solved by the end of the first day.
Day 2 - Javascript : On the second day, the CSS part was included in the project showing the audience how CSS changes the look of a website. Further, basics of Javascript were explained and the portfolio website was completed by adding a few on-click events. At the end, a small task of making one’s own portfolio website was given. Many people did the task, shared it with us. They were applauded on our social media handles.

Web: Behind the Scenes: The GDSC JIIT team kickstarted its activities of Odd Semester 2020 through their first workshop on Node JS on 13th September 2020 at 5 pm. The Workshop was 2 hours long and had its recording uploaded on the Youtube channel of GDSC JIIT. The workshop covered all the basic aspects of NodeJS, its history, usage in the industry, and what makes it suitable for backend development. The workshop was aimed at making the attendees understand the process of backend development by walking through a step-by-step procedure of making a REST API. The workshop was tailor-made for beginners who were not familiarized with Javascript. The workshop informed the attendees about setting up a server, rendering pages through template engines, middleware, and handling different types of requests at the backend. Further knowledge about Express JS and MongoDB connection was also provided. The workshop gained an enthusiastic response from the audience and a lot of doubts were answered throughout the course of the workshop.

GDSC JIIT organized a training bootcamp of 11 days on YouTube to help students complete various labs. Students learnt technologies like Kubernetes, cloud cluster during the event. Hackathon: DevFest 2018 was among the first hackathons cum speaker session conducted by DSC JIIT-62 upon its establishment. It was a mesmerizing experience for all the attendees as well as the organizers and the faculties who were a part of the managing team. On 18th November 2018, a 12 hours hackathon was held, where the club got to see the best of the developers with their skills on display in the labs of JIIT. Other than that, there were hands-on sessions carried out by the organizing team throughout the day along with a lot of speaker sessions by esteemed speakers from LinkedIn and Facebook.
