Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Services (SALIS-Delhi-NCR)
The acronym ‘SALIS’ stands for Society for the Advancement of Library and Information Science. Like-minded library professionals established SALIS-Delhi-NCR Chapter as a professional chapter in the year 2005. The primary focus was to provide need-based services to the profession and to work for the advancement of Library and Information Science (LIS). The current focus of SALIS is to reach the unreached LIS professionals within the NCR and the Northern India belt in order to minimize the digital divide. It also pays attention on the working library professionals of educational Libraries as also the other segment of information specialists in view of the advances in the information and communication technologies and e-governance expectations from the professionals. SALIS-Delhi-NCR Chapter is happy to associate and to provide the technical back-up for the success of the “International Symposium on the Emerging Trends and Technologies in Libraries and Information Services” (ETTLIS-2010)
