Prof. Rajeev Sangal, Director IIT BHU and former Director IIIT Hyderabad visited us today and had an interaction with faculty about some general academic aspects. He delivered a talk for around 30 minutes and it was followed by a 30 min Q&A session.
Prof. Sangal is a leading educationist and computer scientist. Before joining IIT BHU as Director in 2013, he was the Director of IIIT Hyderabad for more than a decade. Under his leadership IIIT Hyderabad grew as a highly respected institute. He is a fellow of National Academy of Engineers and CSI, India. Earlier he had been the faculty and HoD of CSE deptt at IIT Kanpur. He is an alumnus of IIT Kanpur and University of Pennsylvania. He is a multi-disciplinary scholar and has authored several papers and books in Computer science and also a book on Human Values. He had also very closely worked with late President Hon'ble Dr. APJ Kalam.

A three member Belgian FWO (Research Foundation) Delegation visited JIIT. The delegation was part of a bigger delegation led by Dy PM of Belgium and the purpose was to explore possibilities of funded collaborative research.
