BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Ekta Bhatt joined JIIT as Asso. Lecturer in August 2016. She has done her M.Sc. (Organic Chemistry) from Kumaun University Nainitaland M.Ed (Education) from Chhatrapati Sahuji Maharaj Kanpur. She has also done a certificate course “Training on Fish Culture and seed Production” from Dept. of Fisheries, G. B. Pant University Pantnagar. She has completed her PhD degree from Jaypee Institute of Information and Technology Noida sec. 62 in the area of Environmental and Microbial Biotechnology.

RESEARCH HIGHLIGHTS

My research interests are in the area of Environmental and Microbial Biotechnology. During my doctoral I worked on Phytoremediation of organic pollutants by using aromatic plants and impact of organic pollutants on soil and water. Expanding on my expertise in Phytoremediation,I will also investigatechemical profiling and secondary metabolites of aromatic and medicinal plants in response of various environmental stresses. My research interest are also on solid waste management, impact of air pollutants on medicinal plants, micro plastic pollution and their remediation, contamination hydrology and emerging pollutants. Pharmaceutical and microplastic pollution has become a highly growing problem across the global.  In combination with climate-induced stress, pharmaceutical and microplastics may also lead to enhanced various stress on environment and affecting the species health and ecosystems. Therefore, I am also eager to work on microplastic remediation.
